Job Description:
Amida Care is seeking a Director of Informatics who will be responsible to lead the Department of Informatics and Quality Assurance and provide organizational leadership in the development and maintenance of medical systems, software applications and databases for the Medical Management Department and other plan leadership and staff. The Director will work closely with and report to the Medical Director. The Director will be expected to develop the reports and processes to drive overall plan performance and standards. Working closely with the plan’s Medical Director, the Director will create and lead the Department of Informatics and Quality Assurance. This individual will provide organizational leadership to all Amida Care employees to ensure understanding of the attributes of the covered population. They will enhance the organization’s ability to track the performance and efficacy of the plan’s specialized programs. They will manage the use of data warehouse and analytics tools, including Optum Insight’s Impact Pro (previously Ingenix), to drive programs and control costs. They will direct the staff of quality assurance and data analytics professionals. They will monitor performance on regulatory quality measures and identify areas for improvement. They will participate in and collaborate with plan’s research team in designing and carrying out research projects as directed by the plan’s Medical Director.
Qualifications:
- At least 1 to 3 years of management experience in clinical informatics, either at a health plan, an integrated delivery system, hospital system, IPA, medical group or health plan, or related consulting experience.
- Specific qualifications include: tangible experience in data analytics, quality assurance program design and evaluation (including health plan specific measures, e.g. QARR); ability to develop clinical metrics and reports; and strong leadership skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and
- The ability to understand and explain complex medical cases.
- Experience with the special needs of an HIV AIDS population and/or experience with Optum Insight’s Impact Pro is a plus
- Independent local travel and mobility required.
