NYS Department of Health Appointment Access and Availability Standards

Please be sure to follow the New York State Department of Health standards for the availability of routine and non-urgent “sick” office hour appointments as well as the availability of after-hours access.

Amida Care Appointment Access

After-hours access:
The site must provide a “live-voice” for after-hours patient calls – usually an answering service. Once the member leaves a message with the service for the provider to return their call, the provider or covering provider must return a call to the patient within 30 minutes of the message left by the patient. An option is voicemail that provides the patient with another number where the patient can reach the provider after-hours.
