Amida Care Joins Community Advocates to Speak Out Against Homophobia and Transphobia

Amida Care joined Oasis Latino LGBTS Wellness Center, the Latino Commission on AIDS, and other community health organizations and LGBTQ advocates on the steps of City Hall on Thursday, May 9 to speak out against homophobia and transphobia in the Latinx community. The event marked the launch of the national “Zero Homophobia” and “Zero Transphobia” awareness campaigns. Bias against people in the LGBTQ community is harmful on many levels; it creates barriers to health care access and discrimination and violence in schools, the workplace, and places of worship.
