Amida Care Co-Sponsors CME Provider Dinner on PrEP

On Wednesday, May 15, Amida Care co-sponsored a CME (Continued Medical Education) dinner event on the topic of PrEP, in conjunction with Weill Cornell Medicine and the Northeast/Caribbean AIDS Education & Training Center Program. Fifty providers attended the event, which was held at Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse and consisted of two course sections.

Part I: HIV PrEP: The Latest Data was presented by Roy M. Gulick, MD, MPH, Rochelle Belfer Professor in Medicine and Chief of the Division of Infectious Diseases, Weill Cornell Medicine.
Part II: PrEP in Practice was led by Cecilia Yoon, MD, Assistant Professor Clinical Medicine, Division of Infectious Diseases, Weill Cornell Medicine-NYPH. The subject of this year’s course was chosen based on feedback from Amida Care’s 2018 dinner for providers, regarding the topics they’d most like to hear about.

The goal of this CME activity is improved patient care and safety based on an assessment of gaps in physician knowledge, competence and performance. Physicians learn new content relevant to their practice that informs and improves the clinical care they provide.
