Amida Care President and CEO Doug Wirth Included in City & State’s Responsible 100

City & State NY has named Amida Care President and CEO Doug Wirth to its 2021 Responsible 100 list, which represents New Yorkers who are making the world a better place. Those honored are a select group of leaders in business, government, nonprofits and advocacy who exemplify what it means to be a socially responsible citizen, dedicated to helping others.

In his profile, Doug describes his job as one of service. “Through volunteering at a YMCA food program at an early age, I got to know people who experienced homelessness, struggled with mental illness or coped with poverty, injustice or trauma through self-medicating their pain. This inspired my passion to seek equity, justice and humane treatment for my neighbors, which informs Amida Care’s work today. Having lived through decades of the HIV/AIDS epidemic, it is fulfilling to advance access to lifesaving medications and health care for people living with complex conditions like HIV or placed at risk for poor health outcomes.”
