Cultural Competency Training for Amida Care Providers

HIV Special Needs Plans (HIV-SNPs) such as Amida Care are required to ensure cultural competence in their provider network and are required to certify annual completion of a New York State approved cultural competence training curriculum.  This includes training on the use of interpreters and is for all network providers and their staff who have regular or significant contact with our membership.

Recently, the New York State Department of Health (DOH) approved cultural competence training offered by the United States Department of Health and Human Services (HHS).  The training, Think Cultural Health, offers several provider specific programs and is offered online, at no cost:  Education – Think Cultural Health (hhs.gov).

As required, Amida Care is asking that all participating providers and appropriate staff at provider locations complete this training within the next 12 months and annually thereafter.  Following completion, please share certification of completion with us at: providerservices@amidacareny.org
