Medically Tailored Meals

As of November 1, 2020, Amida Care covers medically tailored home-delivered meals for members (depending upon eligibility). Amida Care is partnering with God’s Love We Deliver, the premier home-delivered meal service in the New York area, for a home-delivered meal service designed specifically for Amida Care members. God’s Love cooks and delivers high-quality meals and provides nutrition counseling to Amida Care members who, because of chronic illness, are unable to shop and cook for themselves. The meals are then delivered to your home.

Designed to improve your health and well-being and customized to meet your medical needs, the meals are approved by a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) after a nutritional assessment and a referral from your provider.

Eligibility

To be eligible to receive Medically Tailored Meals, you must:

• Receive a referral from your provider
• Be diagnosed with one or more serious or long-lasting illness(es)
• Be unable to complete day-to-day tasks
• Receive or be eligible to receive 20 hours per week or more of Personal Care Assistant (PCA) care with time assigned for meal preparation*

*Please note: Medically Tailored Meal service will be provided in the place of PCA meal preparation, which will result in a reduction in the amount of PCA hours received each week, for a 6-month period.
