September 15 2020
Amida Care is a proud sponsor of the 2020 Gay City News Impact Awards, which will take place online on Thursday, September 24 at 7 pm. This year’s Virtual Gala & Networking Event honors the individuals who have made an impact in New York City’s LGBTQ community, including Tracie M. Gardner, Vice President of Policy Advocacy at the Legal Action Center, who was nominated by Amida Care. We’re happy to take part in celebrating the achievements, talent, strength, vision, and heart of all honorees.
Tracie has worked for nearly 30 years as a policy advocate, trainer, and lobbyist in the public health, public policy, and not-for-profit worlds. Throughout her career, she has led advocacy campaigns to increase funding for substance use disorders and HIV/AIDS and to promote passage of criminal justice reforms and landmark HIV confidentiality and testing legislation. “We congratulate Tracie and all of the awardees for their many achievements and their commitment to strengthening New York’s LGBTQ community,” said Amida Care President and CEO Doug Wirth.
The Gala will be aired from the Ravel Hotel’s sixth floor penthouse overlooking the Queensboro Bridge and the Manhattan skyline. In addition to viewing a video presentation, participants will be able to post congratulatory messages to the honorees and network with other viewers. A pop-up trivia contest will give participants the chance to win a $250 gift card. Proceeds from the evening’s raffle will be donated to the nonprofit LGBTQ organization Griot Circle.
Amida Care will be hosting a Virtual Exhibitor Room at the event, where participants can learn more about the health plan and chat with representatives.
Registration for the evening webcast is free at gaycitynews.com/impactawards.
