Amida Care President & CEO Doug Wirth Named to 2022 City & State New York Health Care Power 100

Amida Care President & CEO Doug Wirth has been named to The City & State New York Health Care Power 100, a list of health care professionals in New York who have been battling valiantly to save patients, develop new treatments and implement public health strategies to keep the state safe during the Covid-19 pandemic.
The list, which was researched and written by Kay Dervishi and Julia Santiago, highlights the public health officials, hospital executives, labor leaders, activists and other influential figures that have shaped New York’s response to the Covid-19 pandemic – and other pressing health care matters in the past year.
Doug was recognized as a leading voice on HIV/AIDS prevention and care in New York. He has served as President & CEO of Amida Care since 2006, which specializes in providing care to Medicaid recipients with chronic conditions, including HIV/AIDS. Amida Care’s work in advocating for access to PrEP, or pre-exposure prophylaxis, usage, which dramatically reduces the risk for HIV transmission, behavioral health services, gender confirmation surgeries and other care was highlighted in the List.
