Amida Care President & CEO Doug Wirth Named to 2023 City & State New York Health Care Power 100

Congratulations to Amida Care President & CEO Doug Wirth, who has been named to the 2023 City & State New York Health Care Power 100, a list of leaders who are working to improve health care and save lives across the state.

Those honored include public officials, hospital and health care executives, heads of other nonprofit providers and advocates, including Amida Care Board Members Guillermo Chacón, President of Latino Commission on AIDS; C. Virginia Fields, Founder & CEO of Black Health; and Charles King, CEO of Housing Works. The list represents key players and decision makers in the delivery of health care in New York during the past 12 months.

Since 2006, Doug has headed Amida Care, New York’s largest not-for-profit Medicaid Special Needs Health Plan, which serves recipients with chronic conditions including HIV/AIDS. Doug advocates for people living with HIV, spearheading efforts to increase outpatient care, reduce hospital admissions and readmissions and push for the use of PrEP, or pre-exposure prophylaxis, to decrease HIV transmission risk.
