Chantal Innocent, Amida Care VP of Human Resources, Honored with Caribbean Life Impact Award

January 12 2021

Amida Care is proud to announce that on February 18, our Vice President of Human Resources, Chantal Innocent, will be honored with a Schneps Media 2021 Caribbean Life Impact Award. The award recognizes the achievements and contributions of outstanding individuals of Caribbean background who have created the most impact in their respective fields, including health care, the arts, advocacy, and entrepreneurship. Congratulations to Chantal on this well-deserved recognition!

Chantal joined Amida Care in 2013 as Director of Human Resources, building the department and establishing many new organizational processes and best practices. She was appointed as Vice President of Human Resources in 2018. She leads several committees at Amida Care, including the Wellness Committee and the Diversity and Inclusion Committee. In her work with the latter, she has spearheaded training and other educational activities to improve employee engagement and help staff bridge cultural differences. She also works with her Executive Team colleagues on various diversity and inclusion initiatives that inform and support organizational leadership and strategic planning, including a series of conversations on race and racial trauma.

Chantal also leads Amida Care’s Culture Transformation program, bringing together employees with the goal of increasing cross-departmental learning and collaboration to promote Amida Care’s growth as a high-performing organization. In addition, in August 2020, she drove the formation of Amida Care’s Racial Equity and Inclusion Work Group. As co-chair of the group, she directed the development of a three-year plan that will help Amida Care to actively build on its work to become an anti-racist organization. She is currently leading implementation of the plan, which outlines specific actions to promote and foster diversity, equity and inclusion for Amida Care employees at all levels.

Before coming to Amida Care, Chantal worked at Harlem United for 11 years, most recently as Assistant Vice President of Human Resources. She built the department from the ground up, managing all aspects of Human Resources.

Born in Haiti, Chantal moved to the U.S. at the age of three with her family. She has worked in the not-for-profit field since 2001, when she relocated to New York from Miami. Her focus has been on working in the community for the underserved; being a voice for employees, and supporting those who want to do their best.

The virtual Awards Gala will take place on Thursday, February 18, at 7 pm. Register here to attend: https://www.schnepsmedia.com/caribbean-life/caribbean-life-impact-awards/
