Media representation of LGBTQ individuals is more important than ever. Amida Care will be attending the NLGLA – The Association of LGBTQ Journalists’ National Convention in Philadelphia.
Amida Care will be participating on a panel discussion, “Silent Epidemics: How Media Can Shed Light on Health Disparities and Violence in the Transgender Community” on Saturday, September 9 at 11:30am.
The discussion will explore the most significant health issues facing individuals of transgender experience as well as social factors, the impact of stigma and discrimination, and how to be prepared to report on them.
