Celebrating National Health Center Week
This year’s National Health Center Week theme, “Powering Communities Through Caring Connections,” focuses on empowering communities by connecting them with health centers and elected officials from all levels of government.
Every August, the National Association of Community Health Centers (NACHC) sponsors National Health Center Week (this year, August 4 – 10) to celebrate and raise awareness of America’s 1,400 Community Health Centers (CHCs). It’s a great opportunity to highlight the caring and commitment of Community Health Center staff, board members, and supporters; those who help provide quality, comprehensive healthcare services to more than 31.5 million patients across nearly 15,000 communities annually. In addition to providing health services, many CHCs also advocate for legislation to protect their communities.
As always, Amida Care is particularly grateful to our partner providers, who offer invaluable health care to the communities we serve, such as LGBTQ-focused services including gender-affirming care, HIV testing and treatment, and PrEP and PEP to prevent HIV. These organizations include Acacia Network, Apicha Community Health Center, Betances, Callen-Lorde, Community Healthcare Network (CHN), Damian Family Care Centers, Harlem United, Housing Works, and Sun River Health. Thank you to all of our partner providers for the care you give to our members.
CHCs serve as crucial connections to care in their communities, and we salute them for their tireless work and passion for equitable healthcare!
